The Recognition and Awards Committee will adhere to the following policies for scholarship awards and recognition certifications:

The Recognition and Awards Committee will adhere to the following policies for scholarship awards and recognition certifications:

  1. The Recognition & Awards Committee has the authority to make changes to the application, criteria for awarding of awards, and the application process.
  2. Candidates will provide all the information on the approved forms required by Recognition & Awards Committee
  3. Recognition & Awards Committee may independently collect information, including social media, to assess the application.
  4. The decision of Recognition & Awards Committee on recognition and awards is not subject to appeal.
  5. For scholarship awards:
    1. candidates can complete their own application for scholarship award.
    2. The candidacy for recognition certificate is to be kept confidential be nominator, the Recognition & Awards Committee and others involved in the process.
    3. Only those candidates receiving the recognition certificate will be informed of Recognition & Awards Committee decision
  6. For recognition certification:
    1. candidates can not nominate themselves for any recognition certificate.
    2. Nomination must highlight the candidate’s leadership and the exceptional nature of the candidate performance in the following fields of activity:
      1. Professional career (what was achieved beyond normal paid work duties)
      2. Voluntary involvement in the affairs of the accounting profession
      3. Volunteer contribution to profession, community or charitable organization in NWT/NU
